Summer Four-Day Flex Workweek 2026

The first Friday off will be May 15 (Water Shutdown/Paving Project).  The official summer flex schedule will begin the week of  May 18, 2026 through the week of August 10, 2026.  The last Friday off will be August 14, 2026. The following provisions will apply for summer 2026:

  1. The daily schedule for most employees working 35 hours a week will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with one-half hour for lunch (and two fifteen-minute breaks for classified staff).
  2. Time and attendance reporting for flex work weeks (except for 40-hour workweek employees) should reflect an 8.75 hour day – Monday through Thursday.

Exceptions to these hours are:

Memorial Day:  The week of May 25, most employees will work 8:00 – 5:45 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Monday, May 25 the College is closed for Memorial Day and the College will be closed on Friday May 29 for flex Friday.  Keep in mind if you are absent on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, the hours should be reflected as a 9.25 on web time entry.

Juneteenth:  The College will be working normal hours on June 15 – 18th  and will be closed on Friday, June 19th  for the Juneteenth holiday.  The work schedule for that week – Monday – Thursday will be 8:30 – 4:30 pm.

July 4th Week:  The College will be working normal hours on June 29 through July 2nd  and will be closed on Friday, July 3rd for the July 4th holiday. The work schedule for that week – Monday – Thursday will be 8:30 – 4:30 pm.

Employees should work the specified hours as noted and unit heads must ensure the integrity of time and attendance reporting.  Employees with 40-hour workweeks will not be affected by these changes.  Please note that compensatory time will not be earned on flex Fridays so adjust your schedule accordingly as necessary with consultation with your supervisor.  Essential employees should be guided by their supervisor/unit head regarding any flexible work arrangements for the summer.
