{"id":817,"date":"2020-10-29T14:04:37","date_gmt":"2020-10-29T18:04:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/ramapo-green\/?page_id=817"},"modified":"2021-02-04T11:50:36","modified_gmt":"2021-02-04T16:50:36","slug":"campus-meadows","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/ramapo-green\/campus-meadows\/","title":{"rendered":"Campus Meadows"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>The first campus meadow was established in 2014 behind the Sharp Sustainability Education Center (SSEC).<\/h4>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Native wildflower meadows are a fantastic and sustainable alternative to turf.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Some of their benefits include:<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<ul>\n<li>Providing beautiful wildlife habitat<\/li>\n<li>Supporting pollinator populations with tens of thousands of flowers<\/li>\n<li>Only needing to be mowed once per year<\/li>\n<li>Not needing any fertilizer or pesticides<\/li>\n<li>Not needing to be watered after the first year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"altRows\">Originally supported by a USDA block grant to the NJ Beekeepers&#8217; Association, our main meadow on campus has served as a model for other meadows that have since been established around the region. The campus meadows have been a great collaboration between facilities, faculty and students over the past several years.<\/p>\n<div class=\"infoBox col-sm-12 col-lg-12  greyBox\" style=\"float: none;
